My artwork utilises the medium of photography and its trace-capturing facility to explore the correlation between internal states and the visible world.
Working methods generally employ some form of tactile involvement in the production of images, to allow the interaction of expressive mark-making with the physical trace held in the photographic record. I therefore tend to favour working with processes that allow freedom to interact physically both with the image and within the process itself, in order to develop different qualities within the final print and its surface.
In recent years the themes of loss, memory and the consideration of what it is to inhabit a body, have been of central concern.
